Tall Grass

What happens when you go on vacation for 10 days and it rains most of the time you are gone?


You get really tall grass...


That is what happened to us while we were in Florida. So by the time Dan got around to mowing the backyard it had gotten quite thick and tall. This made the mowing slow-going because the mower kept getting jambed from all the grass. At one point when Dan was unclogging the mower he looked down and saw this...

Isn't that just the cutest little baby bunny you have ever seen????

A burrow of bunnies (about 5 or 6)

One bunny had gotten out so Dan put him back in. He kept getting out and eventually died (they don't handle change well). But the other bunnies lived and we had so much fun going out every morning to check on them and see how they were growing.

After about a week they were big enough to start nibbling on the grass we gave them, and the next morning they were gone - hopping away to their new homes. Occassionally we will see an adult rabbit on our street and the kids get so excited, shouting "There's one of our bunnies!"
