Six Flags!

For the past 2 weeks we've been getting together with the family to do lots of fun activities while Dan's nephews were in town. From swimming at Barton Springs, watching the Congress Bridge bats, and Six Flags, to lots of family dinners, Wii game nights, and watching racecars at the track. Unfortunately I only had my camera at Six Flags so that's all I have pictures of!

We spent the entire day at the park, starting of course with the water park:

Tyler wasn't quite big enough for that slide so instead we took silly pics while we waited!

Pioneer Day at Texas Old Town

This year we celebrated Pioneer Day the way we had for years before we lived in Utah - at Texas Old Town. Our stake puts it on every year and everyone comes for the great food, games, live music, dancing, and fireworks!

After eating we started off with some face-painting...

Natalie "the cat" (no surprise there!) with her friend Sophie and primary teacher Sister A. who painted her face. Natalie was delighted!

Meanwhile, the boys got a treat of their own...

It was such a fun evening with all our family - unfortunately I didn't get any pics of the rest of the family that were there so Carla and Michelle I'm relying on you! The kids had so much fun, and so did the adults! From hayrides to watermelon, to glow-sticks and popcorn the night was a huge hit and we are so glad we stayed til the last firework exploded!

Happy July 4th!

We celebrated the 4th of July this year the traditional way - with food, family, and fun! The day before I made a special patriotic dessert pizza for our Sunday treat, so we took some pics. And I realized I've been avoiding the camera (by staying behind it instead of in front of it!) so I made Dan take a picture of my growing "baby bump"-

The next day, the 4th, we got all ready in our red, white and blue. Natalie and Nathan were by far the best dressed so they had to show it off of course!

We went to the Bischoff's for a fun family BBQ that afternoon...

(looking over this post I realize it is mainly food-oriented, sorry about that! Can I just blame it on the pregnancy?? But I must say that the food really was very good!)

We are so thankful to live in this country and be able to share this time with our family.

It was definitely a 4th to remember!
