Valentine's Day 2010

This year for Valentine's Day we attended a semi-formal adult dance sponsored by our church entitled "A Night in Paris." There was a live band, lots of fancy finger foods, and beautiful decor. Dan and I got a babysitter (one of the perks of working with the Young Women!) and got all gussied up for it. Here we are on our way out the door:

That being said, we soon realized once we arrived that we canNOT dance to live big band music! So after trying to socialize and dance for 30 minutes, we decided to leave and go catch a movie instead. After all, "Twilight: New Moon" had just come to the dollar theater here. Now if you are saying to yourself right now, "What were they thinking??" then I must confess that we weren't really. We just wanted to get out of that dance! Apparently most of Utah had the same idea because the theater was completely SOLD OUT when we got there.
But we weren't going to let that ruin our evening! We drove to Blockbuster, rented some fun movies, hit Taco Bell for some late-night feasting, and headed home. We were gone just short of two hours. All-in-all I would say it was a success: got to buy a new dress/shoes, dance one time with my hubby, drive around the valley listening to cool music, and stay up late watching a movie at home. It was a GREAT Valentine's day!
We actually did all of that on Saturday night and didn't do anything very spectacular on the actual Valentine's Day. We made heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast, went to church (where I got to teach and stay after for a meeting), and spent the rest of the day relaxing and eating lots of sweets!
Wait there was one spectacular thing on Valentine's day- when I came home from church Dan surprised me with beautiful white roses (sorry, no pic!) and new pillows on our bed which he made himself!! That was the biggest surprise! (the bed being made, not the pillows - he's done that before) Thank you honey, you are so thoughtful!!! And I love you :)

LOVE that dress! We have different ideas of fun when we are married with kids, don't we?
