1st Day of School

Natalie is officially now in school! She started Kindergarten on August 24, 2009. She was so excited to finally be in school!!

I was so excited and nervous for her that first day so I took her into school instead of her riding the bus. She met her teacher, Ms. Peacock, for the first time (we missed back to school night), found her cubby hole for her backpack, then sat down at the table like she was a total pro at it! And she didn't even seem nervous - waved goodbye to me and then moved on to her coloring. I wish I had felt as confident!
After a few roadbumps that first week (mostly involving the schoolbus), Natalie is loving school and can't wait to go every morning. I'm so glad she's a morning person! And from what her teacher tells me, I'm pretty sure Natalie is one of the best in her class. She's already gotten to be the line leader one week and the caboose (sp?) the next. And every day she comes home eager to tell me all about what she learned at school, demonstrating the games and singing the songs, and telling me how she's making new friends (one girl is even named "Anna" - I like her already!).
I can't say how good it is to see Natalie thriving in her school environment and making righteous choices every day. I am so pleased and proud of her. All I can say is Way to go, Natalie!! You're my big girl!!!
