New Socks

This past Friday night my parents came over and watched the kids so Dan and I could go out - we went to the Onion Creek Grill where we got engaged 7 years ago. We had a great time together. It's always fun remembering that special time in our lives and reflecting on how far we've come since then. We always sit at the same table that is next to a wall of windows where you can see the sunset (as long as it's not raining, which is was). And every year we go I ask Dan if he's still glad that he asked me to marry him, and every year his answer is the same...yes.

I'm still glad I said "yes" 7 years ago.

So as my parents were leaving I noticed my Dad's socks. He always insists on taking his shoes off at our house, even though I tell him he'd probably be safer keeping them on! Here is what I saw:

(Sorry Dad if you're reading this)

I know what you must be thinking..."That man needs new socks!!!"

And I will tell you this... My dad has received new socks every year for Father's Day as well as his birthday, and Christmas. And every time he gets new socks my mom tells him to go throw out the old ones.

So you can imagine my surprise when I saw my poor dad's toes through his socks! I asked him, "Dad, why are you wearing those OLD socks??"

His reply... "I'm trying to get my money's worth!"

Dad, I think you got your money's worth out of those socks 10 years ago.

That is hilarious! I'm that way with bras. I could be impaling myself on exposed wire and yet I still insist I don't need to drop $30 on a new one! LOL

Oh, and congrats on the 7 years! You two make a really beautiful couple!
